XoftSpySE

XoftSpySE is the ultimate solution to eliminating adware, spyware and any other forms of malicious programs that have unknowingly been placed on your computer. The free scan which can be downloaded on their home page quickly analyzes your computer to detect any and all related files that could potentially be considered malware.We ran the Free scan on a Windows XP system that had been experiencing problems with uncontrollable pop-ups and it quickly located 33 harmful program files. After registering for the full version which is said to remove all harmful programs it took about 30 seconds to receive our licensed keycode and to begin running the removal software. Of the 33 programs detected all were removed in a matter of about 10 to 15 minutes and an initial reboot of the computer found that the system started about 7 seconds faster than before, and applications like MS word and Excel were launching much quicker. Best of all no more pop-ups.

SpywareStop

Our second pick is very similar to our first in that we were allowed to download and scan our computer for free and once we decided to purchase a license the program was up and running in no time. The support team was wonderful and the program itself actually took less time to run its course and remove the malware found on our computer than our #1 pick. So why only four stars? Well, perhaps we were spoiled by our top pick, but we found the overall performance of our PC to not be as quick as with our top pick. We even went as far as to scan this computer using the Xoftspy scanner and found 2 malicious programs that had been missed. Overall it did perform well and is recommended, but you can see why we had to knock off a star.

AdwareBot

Adware Bot is our third and final pick, and it actually was the easiest to use and fastest running program of all the malware removal systems we reviewed. It quickly scanned our test computer and located 23 harmful programs - and again the license was easy to obtain and we were removing the malware faster than I could heat up my cup of coffee in the microwave. The difference between this and the other two was obvious though. It did not detect close to a ten programs that the other two did and when I did run into a problem my support ticket was not responded to for several days. A full, support system is just good business in my book and it simply wasn't there.
